Oath of Alliance to Honor
The Oath of Alliance to Honor is the oath of induction for the entrance ceremony by which Order of the Golden Staff pledges become OGS members. The oath is both a solemn appeal to the membership and council of the Order as a pledge of sincerity as well as a celebration of the spirit of fellowship that guides the members of OGS. It is this spirit of fellowship with ALL of the realm's honest and true citizens that inspire the ideals upon which OGS was founded. Those ideals are:
Honor and Brotherhood
Honor comes from an outward respect for each of us to one another regardless of race or level or class or ability. Only through respect for each other do the great powers of brotherhood flourish in the kindred folk of the realm. "ONCE OGS ALWAYS OGS"
Honesty and Fairness
Honesty comes from the cultivation of trust and a clear code of conduct that rewards truth and not deception. Only through honest exchange between people of reason does fairness prevail and the process of justice remain true.
Generosity and Humility
Generosity comes from the recognition that we all have something to share and that in the giving we also receive. Only through sharing what we can with those in need does pride and humility balance on the equal footing we seek.
Valor and Faith
Valor comes from the courage we must show in the face of the ever present evils that seek to destroy all justice. Only through courage and belief in our own abilities and those of our brothers and sisters does faith triumph.
The Order of the Golden Staff is *NOT* a neutral guild. We accept evil races and classes, So long as they are really Goodie's in Disguise, and live the good way through Action's an Deeds. We have chosen our side as that of the "good" fight of Love and Justice for all. It may be easy to join a guild and take an oath, but it is not so easy to live up to the ideals listed above. For this you will need determination and persistence. And our help... All of the membership of GA will attempt to assist you, but it is you who must meet the pledge and it's commitments. Before you pledge the Oath of Alliance to Honor, you must know what it means.
Read and make sure that you understand each of the points. If you have questions about a point, discuss it with your mentor and other GA members. That's what we're here for... The following are all the points of the oath:
I will uphold and help enforce the Laws of land I am in and abide by all treaties entered into by the council of OGS. If I believe a law, agreement or treaty is unjust, I will make my position known to the council and work within the boundaries of existing laws and rules to have them changed.
I will publicly support and defend the sanctity of the GA ideals on the message boards and in the realms against all attackers within the boundaries of the rules set forth for posting. I will NEVER engage in acts of harassment or profane talk.
I will attempt to help and aid all whom I meet and will abide by the rules for PvP engagement of the land I am presently in. I will make every effort to come to the aid of a fellow guildmember who has asked for assistance in heat of battle without regard to the odds or threat to my personal safety.
I will not forsake my fellow guildmembers or give comfort to the enemies of the guild nor engage in acts of deception that would have the effect to compromise my code of conduct. I will make every effort to meet my attendance commitments and try not to leave before the agreed upon time and will attempt to communicate with my companions when I cannot.
I will participate in meaningful and supportive dialog with members of other "good" guilds and help spread the spirit of fellowship to all I meet throughout the realms. I will be courteous and respectful to all with whom I meet regardless of race or level or class or ability and will work towards the goal of fellowship with ALL "good" folk.
I will keep in mind that the point of this game is to have fun.

Order of the Golden Staff Guild Charter |

(Written by TaMaster and Kayn, For The Order of Goldenstaff edited on the event of Neverwinter Nights' Destruction). Revised for Norrath. As we have moved forward into the undiscovered future, so to have we grown.
The Guild Charter for the Order of the Golden Staff is comprised of a few goals that ARE achievable (if not all at the same time) individually and collectively. These goals are:
1.To battle evil in all its forms throughout the realms and to lend support and safe escort, where possible, to adventurers in the dangerous regions.
2.To provide a central support network of adventurers who coordinate with GOOD guild alliances and activities throughout the realm's many GOOD guild organizations.
3.To help organize and officiate realms-wide events, and quests.(This Date's back Many Age's to " Never Winter's Nights on AOL. "
4.To provide counsel to players new and old about the many aspects of the games Order of the Golden Staff is present in, and to provide arbitrators to guild meets should they be warranted.
5.To provide guildmembers an environment of companionship, support, recognition and advancement in all the disciplines of the fine art of Role Play.
To be the BEST and Most member supportive guild in the land!
To fulfill these goals, we ask very little of our members. Still, to facilitate the achievement of our goals, a few basic rules are necessary. There can be no order without proper guidance.
(1) First and foremost, utter and total loyalty to the guild and all of its members is required. There exists within the Order of the Golden Staff, a unique family-like quality not found in most other guild's.
(2) Loyalty can often be mistaken for blind faith; we want to make sure this is not the case. Members are urged to bring any problems they have to the Prime's for discussion and resolution. Even the most serious problems are often easily resolved when the matter is brought into the open and examined.
(3) The Order of the Golden Staff has not achieved its current position through good luck and happenstance. It has been through dedication, hard work, and countless invested hours and dollars by hundreds of hard-working people. Because hard work is so valuable to us, battles with permanent character destruction as the wager are forbidden. ((this was for NWN pvp deathmatches, and is left in for Historical Importance)). It makes no sense that a guild member should lose his or her hard-earned status to the winds of chance. In VERY extreme cases, permission must be obtained from a majority of the council.
(4) Hacking the game and/or abusing it through illicit programs and/or activities is expressly forbidden. Anyone found to VIOLATE this rule will be ejected from the guild, and their name forwarded to the administration.

Order of the Golden Staff Members DO NOT:
- Beg for handouts.
- Knowingly exploit or otherwise break the EverQuest II EULA.
- Excessively flame or grief other players in-game, or online in other forums of communication.
- Use harsh language in a public channel. An appropriate level of harsh language is acceptable in guild chat. Racial slurs and sexist remarks are not tolerated.
- Do anything that could compromise the guild`s reputation.
- Don't be Greedy.... OGS is a Need Before Greed Guild.
Order of the Golden Staff Members DO:
- Try to know the ins and outs of your respective classes at an expert level. If you don't then feel free to ask. We are here to help each other.
- Be active in the guild and game. The more you are active, the more fun we all have.
- Visit the web site on a regular basis for the latest information on events, and guild discussion. Be sure to be an active participant and feel free to post questions or comments
- Make every attempt to group with other guild members. Loyalty to the guild is vital for its long term success as well as strengthening the bonds of our family.
- Play EverQuest II with respect, common sense and integrity.
- Most importantly, HAVE FUN!! Remember, if nothing else, this is a game and we all play this to have FUN!!!

Who are the members of Order of the Golden Staff?
OGS members are mature, organized, highly dedicated, extremely skillful and adventurous. We share more in common than a guild tag. We are friends and hunting partners.
Many of us have been together for years and more than anything we are a family!
Who are the officers of Order of the Golden Staff?
Currently the officers and their alts are:

How old is Order of the Golden Staff?
The Order of the Goldenstaff was formed in 1992. The Guild began in the game NeverWinter Nights played on AOL. Several members are still playing in the guild to this day.
What are the Guild Values?
OGS is all about Family and treating each other with respect. We live the Creed "ONCE OGS ALWAYS OGS." We pride our selves with being fair and when we make a mistake we attempt to correct it immediately.
Does OGS power level its members?
OGS does not power level its members we prefer to group and build the toons as complete characters.
What are the Level requirements for OGS?
The current level limit for new members is 30. We do have an active base of level 35 plus in game, so it will be more difficult for those of lower levels to find hunting companions.
Do I need recommendations to join the guild?
No, you do not need recommendations/sponsors. However it is recommended of you to join OGS on as many raids/events/groups as possible in order to be considered as a candidate.
When will I get a Mentor?
Once you are invited into the guild you will receive a mentor shortly after.
How long is the Pledge process?
The time it takes to complete the pledge process is up to the Pledge and the Mentor. A pledge quest will be assigned and the mentor will monitor the progress and notify the Head of Admissions when the pledge is ready for induction.
What happens if I Detag?
We take membership in OGS seriously. Once tagged, if you remove your tag for any reason not approved by the Guild Leader in advance, you will not be allowed to be retagged for 90 days.
What happens if I don't Log into the game for an extended period of time?
We want to keep an active membership. It is a bit disheartening to see members inactive for long periods of time. Unless you are on approved leave, players may be taken off the roster after 200 days of non-activity, even though you are still part of the guild. When you do log back in, we are more than happy to re-tag you back into the guild. Just send an officer a /tell to get re-tagged. As our motto, once OGS, always OGS.
What is the OGS loot System?
The OGS Loot system is based on "Need before Greed" Most Items will be up for general Random looting. If during a Raid an Item is dropped that in the right hands will significantly help the guild the item may be awarded without a roll. This will be determined by the officers.
Will there be guild meetings?
Officers will hold guild meetings on a regular basis to discuss raid plans & performance and answer any questions its members may have. Guild meetings will be announced two weeks in advance, An are will be set up on the forums asking members to submit any questions or concerns they may have for the meeting.
Will the guild have raids?
Yes!
We are currently working towards that end. However we are a family casual guild. Some of us are a bit more hard core than others. One of the huge benefits of EQ2 is that we can raid on our schedule, not the game's schedule. Most raids will be announced at least 3 days in advanced. However some raids will happen spontaneously, like when there just happens to be many of us online and nothing to do.
We are currently aligned with Cohort Chalybeius for raiding and are now actively taking on high end content. As our numbers grow, so will the difficulty of our objectives.
