Here's a thread we can probably keep updating and updating and updating.
Right now I'm reading a sci-fi book. After you guys talking about them I pulled one out.
Starrise at Corrivale, by Diane Duane.
She does fantasy and such normally but the book is very good. Part of a trilogy, set in the "Star Drive" universe. I"m guessing a vanished game setting for something or other. I've actually got quite a few of those. The games never take off, but the novels they paid to get written are still good!
So what are you reading?

Oh I have read ALL of the Ann Rice (Except the one where she went all religous and now no longer writs vamp books) Read all the Twilight series. I have the Wicked series (3 books in each book) there are 3 of them All "tween" So far i've liked the short stories in them except #6 not really cought my attention so far.. but will read it when I finish Vampire Kisses 1 (again it is a book with 3 of the shorter novels in it).
IF I can find the short story I wrote a long long long time ago, about vampires and such I'll post it here. everyone loved it. I just never went farther in the writing. Since Tony wants me to do SOMETHING I might take a creative writing class again.

see I didn't like any of the other Wicked / Son of a Witch series except the first.. in fact the only other MacGuire book I really liked was 'Lost' which was actually friggin' scary.. there was one other that wasn't too bad but most I found to be ho-hum.
I'm telling you guys.. Jasper Fforde all the way.. dude cracks me UP.. two series and funny as crap. especially if you were forced to read things like Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights in school (and I had the misfortune of both bleh)

ew, vampire books in my thread! I have a deep seated prejudice against them. Sorry, but they're blood sucking psycopath killers, not some romanticized misguided misunderstood things. Anne Rice was their publicist until she found religion and wrote book about Jesus's friend Buddy. Now its the Twilight lady. I'm telling you, its part of their plan for world domination! By the time they show that tehy'r real, all the women in the world will swoon and the guys will be too busy feeling inadequate to stop them.
ahem. Not crazy btw.
So what are YOU guys reading?

LOL you will like this... I just finished Twilight and starting a New Moon lol. I saw the movie and liked it so I bought the book series for some lite reading. Before that I was re-reading some of the Tom Clancy Jack Ryan series book.. yeah I know its just a tad different.

So hurt my back. Had nothing else to do so I read all weekend. Went through all my saved up books!!
Finished the Diane Duane trilogy early. Then read A Kiss Before the Apocalypse by Thomas E. Sniegoski. It was pretty decent. Nice urban fantasy. He's an angel that chose to become human..well sorta. Have to read to understand. The religious angle was.. interesting. Not skipped, but.. it was interesting.
Then read Patriot Witch by C.C. Finlay I believe the name is. A nice historical fantasy, part of a series. Next two books will be out in the next two months, which I like. Takes place during... Revolutionary war! Paul Revere had a small cameo, hopefully he gets a bigger one. A few references to famous places and things. AND the guy is actually a trained historian, so the historical details are actually correct and will BE correct. That's kinda a big deal with historical fantasy books!!
So finished that and now re-reading an older series by Brian Daley. First book is Requiem for a Ruler of Worlds. I dont' remember what it's like overly..been a few years. Found the last book in the trilogy last month though so figured it was time to re-read now that I got all three. That's the fun bit with shopping used, unless you just do it online. Take's some of the fun out of it though, ya know?
If I ever get really bored, remind me to show you all a picture of my collection...well most of it. couple of bookshelves are at my parents.. Need to get them all moved over still.. only been in this place for 11 months now!!

Zynth. I know it is pretty much romance type series but the Outlander series written by Diana Gabaldon is great.
Outlander Series
Outlander (1991) • Dragonfly in Amber (1992) • Voyager (1994) • Drums of Autumn (1997) • The Fiery Cross (2001) • A Breath of Snow and Ashes (2005)
Lord John Series
Lord John and the Hellfire Club (1998) • Lord John and the Private Matter (2003) • Lord John and the Succubus (2003) • Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade (2007) • Lord John and the Haunted Soldier (2007) • Lord John and the Scottish Prisoner (coming out eventually)
In Outlander it is a time travel book, which spans a large chunk of hystory. The Lord John Series is a simi spin off of the series. Lord John is frm the Outlander series, and is a Officer in the Brittish Army.
Read all of the Outlander (numerious times) and Starting on the Lord John ones.

There's a new one in the outlander series too.. just came out (or is on its way)
I can vouch for the Outlander series though after the third book the next three are a lot drier..
The Outlandish Companion is also good once you've gotten through the first three.. almost creepy how she got some things accurate w/o even knowing it.. Haven't tried the Lord John series..
